Yesterday I shared that this year instead of making several large over arching goals I'm going to make an attempt at setting smaller more attainable goals on a weekly basis. The propose of this is to feel like I'm getting more actually accomplished throughout the year and maybe feel like I have something to show for myself in 12 months. I had originally planned on starting my weekly goal setting on January 6th since that was the first full week of the new year but the more I thought about it the more I realized I do have some things I would like to get accomplished this week. Thus, the 1/2 week goals for the first few days of 2020.
Well, it is clear I did not make it through my blogmas goals. Instead we found ourselves deep in the trenches of plumbing issues, winter finally deciding to show it's ugly head, and an impromptu move that none of us were really prepared for. Toss in Christmas and it was just a true recipe for… Continue reading New Year, New Goals
"It was the best of times. It was the worst of times." Oh wait...crap...that's plagiarism isn't it? Hold on..let me try this again. This year can 100% be divided in half. I have the "Fort Worth, Texas" half and the "Alamogordo, New Mexico" half. 2019 I think can best be described as "The Year of… Continue reading A Tale of Two Cities: A 2019 Year in Review
It always amazes me to see how God chooses to work. When we left Texas and Southwestern Seminary the plan was to settle in, put our heads down and just simply focus on getting Dusty through a new semester at a new school. We even looked forward to the opportunity to become a part of… Continue reading Starting A New (Not So New) Journey
Happy Monday! It's time to dive head first back into the holiday theme for today's blogmas post. While I was in the process of trying to lay out my themes and topics for the month I stumbled across this fun little "Would You Rather" quiz and I just thought it would be fun to work… Continue reading Would You Rather-Chirstmas Edition
Everytime we are out and about during what is considered the typical school times and school days we tend to become engaged in several different types of conversations. When people see my kids out and about they usually get asked if they are enjoying their day off of school. Once people find out we are… Continue reading Debunking 4 Homeschool Myths
It is no secret that I have a HUGE sweet tooth. From Halloween to Valentines day I think I consume more treats than I do any form of nutritious food. I am fully aware that this is not the healthiest way to survive but sometimes you just gotta indulge in life. Christmas is a season… Continue reading My Favorite Holiday Treats
I had some really good intentions of writing some fun and festive posts all this month. I even took the time to write out topics and titles in my planner so I would know exactly what I would be writing about each day. I even went as far as to write several posts and have… Continue reading When Things In Life Go Awry
I am not sure if I have mentioned this or not but I HATE THE WINTER.
Happy Saturday! I have always found the week after Thanksgiving one of the harder one. Truth be told I have always felt like holidays stuck in the middle of the week shouldn't be allowed. It just throws off the whole flow of the week. This week was what I often call "re-entry" week where we… Continue reading Weekly Wrap-Up
