HI! I’m glad you stopped by today.
This week as I was sitting down to plan out what I would write about I decided to scroll back through some of my old posts and just see what kinds of topics have struck my fancy in the past. One of the things I noticed was that about every two years, around this time, I did another “Get to know me” style post. So I figured I might as well keep up with the tradition. So if you have been around for a while maybe this will shed some light on a bit about me that you didn’t know, and if you are fairly new to the blog I hope this helps you to get to know who I am just a little.
So, here we go!

Introvert or Extrovert
I consider myself more of an introvert but my husband argues with me on that point. I think if I were going to be honest I would have to say I would fall in the category of ambivert. It really depends on the time of year and the activity as to how I am able to recharge.
Righty or Lefty
I am 100% a righty. My left side is basically useless which has made it quiet interesting to teach my left handed child how to do things. But she is bright and picks things up quickly mostly on her own.
Simple or Glam
ABSOLUTLEY simple. I used to want to be one of those people who was glam all the time but I just don’t have it in me. Right now, the most glam thing about me is my super fun blue hair. Other than that I’m as plain and simple as they come.
Rain or Sunshine
This one is hard because I LOVE the warm sunshiny days of the Southern New Mexico summers because I HATE being cold, however, I love a good rainy day when I have the opportunity to snuggle on my couch with a warm blanket, a cup of tea and a good book. That rarely happens though, so I will go with sunshine on this one.
Early Bird or Night Owl
I have pretty much always been an early bird, but my dear husband is a huge night owl so over the years I have had to adjust my schedule some so that we could get some quality time together. I am still usually the first one up and moving each day though.
Get Even or Get Over It
I try to be more of a get over it type person mostly because getting even requires a lot of energy that I just don’t have any more. There was probably a time that getting even was the way to go but now it just doesn’t seem worth it as often.
Night Out or Night In
100% night in. Now that Doordash and Grubhub are in existence I am perfectly happy with ordering some food and planting myself on the couch for a good show or movie without having to bother with shoes or acceptable clothing.
Calls or Texts
Texts. Please don’t call me. I don’t really use my phone for actually talking on it. Talking requires energy and time and I usually don’t have much of either of those things. When you text me I can reply as I have time, however, if I don’t reply in a timely manner it is probably because I answered you in my head and just assumed my all knowing smart phone device picked up my signal and followed through.
Sunrise or Sunset
You can not beat a Southern New Mexico sunset. (Sorry Texas but it’s true). There is so much open space here and the colors are just so bright and it really is hard to describe. It’s one of those things you just have to see to understand.
Always Late or Always Early
I want to be an always early person. I have always lived by the principle that if you are early you’re on time, if you are on time you are late, and if you are late you might as well not show up at all. However, I live with other people who don’t view life that way and sometimes you have to choose what hill to die on, punctuality is not one of those hills.
Dog Person or Cat Person
The real answer to this one is neither. I am just not really a pet person, but there was a time that wasn’t the case. At one point, early in our marriage, Dusty and I had 5 dogs so we were/are dog people. This is mostly because I am allergic to cats. But for now we are a no pet family and that works best for us.
Dreamer or Realist
Again, I think I am a little bit of both. I like to think about big things and big ideas but I try to be realistic about what can and can’t be accomplished. That doesn’t always mean I don’t get a bit carried away at times though.
Walking or Driving
This depends on where we are and where we are going. I don’t mind a good walk but the time of year, the location we are leaving from and going to, and how much stuff I will have to carry along with me all helps to give me the answer to this question. So…both?
And there it is. A few this or that’s about me. Share your choices in the comments!
