Married and Replanting Ep. 012: What We Are Listening To

Happy Wednesday! And happy new podcast episode day! I apologize for going radio silent last week but Dusty and I had the very rare opportunity to escape out of town for a night and that lead to me just getting behind on all the things. BUT I am back this week with a brand new post and a brand new podcast episode.

Last week Dusty and I had the opportunity to travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico to participate in our state conventions’ annual business meeting. This is a time where members of the cooperating churches from all across the state can come together for encouragement, renewal, and like any business meeting…do business. We vote as a large group on the next year’s operating budget, the trustees and board members for the various organizations that are run by the state convention, and to vote for the officers of the next year. All in all it is a great time of fellowship. If you are even the least bit curious about that trip, the convention, and some of our take away thoughts then feel free to listen to Episode 11. Fair warning the recording was not great in our motel room.

This week Dusty and I took the time to discuss some of the podcasts that we listen to throughout our days and weeks. If you have followed along with my blog at any point then you may know that I shared some of my personal favorite podcasts here. But like music and movies there are always more to share and more to listen to. Dusty shares some of the podcasts that he listens to on his own while at work or in the car when he ever gets the chance to travel. I share a couple I listen to on my own and then we discuss a few that we enjoy listening to together.

One thing we have discovered is that podcasts are a great way to engage in conversation. Often times we find ourselves listening to something and that will trigger a new thought and the conversation begins. What’s even more fun is that now our kids are getting older and they will often join in one the conversations. Its good wholesome listening that engaged the heart and the mind often.

So grab a cup of coffee or tea (especially if you are in my neck of the woods where there is snow on the ground in October) or whatever your favorite drink of choice is and join us as we discuss what we like to listen too. And if you would like to try out some of our recommendations bellow is a list of all the podcasts we mention as well as links to where you can find them on the web.

Ep. 030: Small Groups and Community Outreach The Married and Replanting Podcast

Church is so much more than just being in the building on Sunday morning to hear the pastor preach. One of the great parts of being a member of the local body of believers is the opportunity to gather together throughout the week for continued growth and fellowship. It is also a great way to get out into the community. This week Dusty and Elizabeth discuss launching small group studies throughout the week as a way for the members of the church to fellowship and grow together. They also discuss ways to be reaching out to the community to fill needs on little to no budget.  Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and join us as we discuss ways to launch small group ministries and how to reach out to the community with the resources you have.    Resources mentioned in today's episode are: A Guide to Flake's Formula Have a question about church replanting, marriage, or just life in general?
