Happy Blogmas day 6! Can you believe we are already almost through the first full week of December? It seems like just yesterday we were smack dab in the middle of summer. And now here we are just a mere few days away from the official start of winter and winding down the end of not just a year but of a century.
This year for science at Mars Hall Legacy Academy we have been studying through the 7 days of creation. Each day, broken down into units, focus on different aspects of the world. In a brick and mortar style school this would probably be called “Earth Science” We have worked progressively through each aspect of the world and discovered how each part has been necessary for the other to function properly.
This week we wrapped up our unit on day 4, the sun, moon, and stars. We took a close look at the sun, the moon, the stars, and our galaxy. One of the best parts of being back in New Mexico and Alamogordo more specifically is that we have the New Mexico Museum of Space History. Today, to wrap up our space unit we took a field trip.
Here is our trip in pictures:

We had a great time at the New Mexico Museum of Space History. It is always fun to get a change of scenery. If you are ever in Alamogordo, New Mexico take some time to plan a trip to visit the museum. For more information check out their website: http://www.nmspacemuseum.org/
See you tomorrow for blogmas day 7!
