Welcome to Blogmas Day 3! Today’s Blogmas post is one that I just think is fun. I’m not really one that likes to talk about myself but this one is fun because I get to think about my favorite holiday traditions and the like. I did a Christmas Tag for the first time last year and decided I would bring it back again. So here we go!
1.How did you spend last Christmas?
Last Christmas was our first one living back in New Mexico. We were living with my parents and in the middle of plumbing issues. We had friends in town from Texas so we all stayed in the house we are now living in that was no where move in ready together. We went to my parents house to open gifts, then we went up the mountain to play in the snow, when that was done we all met at our house for our meal. Over all it was a pretty good day.
2.How are you spending this Christmas?
This year is of course the year of COVID. We will be having a Christmas Eve candle light service in some capacity at the church. I’m sure we will do something relatively similar to what we normally do which is gifts and meal at my parent’s house since we all work together and spend most of our time together. We are also going through our usual advent activity calendar and fun things like that.
3.What’s your favorite Christmas Movie Quote?

4.If you could be in any Christmas movie what would it be?
Probably a live action version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I would love to be a Who in Whoville! They just look so cute and dress so fun.
5.What is your most favorite Christmas food?
Pie! Cookies! Fudge! All the things that are beyond unhealthy and not good for me at all. But hey, its only once a year right??
6.Do you prefer giving or receiving gifts on Christmas?
Giving! I like seeing the smiles on peoples faces when they open their gifts. I always struggle when people ask what I want because I never know the answer.
7.If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone who would it be?
Always and forever this guy!

8.What’s a few of you favorite traditions?
Decorating the house on Black Friday because there is no way I am going out of the house on that day. Going to church for a candle light service on Christmas Eve. Opening one Christmas gift on Christmas Eve after church right before bed. Driving around looking at lights.
9.What’s a few traditions you’ll be missing out on this year? #2020
The Christmas parade in town. Last year our LARP group actually participated in the parade and we had big plans to go bigger and brighter this year but well…2020. So hopefully next year.
10.Where do you draw the line for Christmas Sweaters? Do you like ugly or more cute?
I LOVE SWEATERS. I truly don’t care if they are ugly or cute or what. As long as they are comfortable and about 3 sizes to big I’m happy.
11.Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yep. Believe it or not living in Southern New Mexico I used to have a white Christmas ever year. We had a few in Fort Worth as well but that was a rarity. I will be honest and say that I am not a fan of the cold but I do believe if its going to be below freezing there has better be snow on the ground to make it worth the cold.
12. Do you use colored lights on your tree or white?
We have done both. When Dusty and I were first married we had a white tree and I used pastel colored ornaments and tulle to decorate the tree to make it look like it jumped right out of the game Candy Land so we used colored lights then. When we transitioned to a more traditional green tree we started using white lights because it was what we had on hand. This year we have blue lights on the tree because they were loaned to us by a friend. We have colored icicle lights on the outside of the house and white lights on the rest of the inside of the house. The moral of the story is: I live twinkle lights no matter what the color.
So there you have it. My 12 questions of Christmas. Which question did you like the most? Leave some answers in the comments. And come back tomorrow for Blogmas Day 4!
