Welcome to Blogmas 2020

Hello friends and HAPPY DECEMBER. I truly believe that December and the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year. While there are a few people out there that will change things up in their homes and routines seasonally almost everyone I know does some sort of switching things up for the holidays, even if that is just adding in a Christmas tree and some lights.

I have always felt like the holiday season is a time that shakes up the status quo. There are changes in schedules and routines, shifts in thoughts and ideals, and just an over all sense of excitement and wonder…even now in the year that will never end.

Last year I decided I would try out this fun little thing called Blogmas. I had a lot of fun with it last year but I have waffled back and forth on if I’m going to participate this year or not. As you can see I have jumped back on the band wagon. So here we go.

How it works:

How It Works

Blogmas is fairly straight forward. For 25 days-December 1-December 25-I will have a new post up. Most of them will be centered around the holidays and the end of the year. Some of them will be more of a general winter theme. And then there will be one or two that are posts I have wanted to get out but have never had the time or head-space to get written out. I will also have our weekly podcast post go up each Wednesday. Lastly, there will be a few of our homeschool updates peppered in.

It is my hope that I can do a few things through this process:

  1. I want to get back into the habit of writing. I find I usually have a lot of words in my head and very rarely get the opportunity to get them all out. I miss writing and sharing what is on my heart and mind. I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of it for the new year.
  2. Getting back to the roots of why I started a blog in the first place. I wanted to have a place where I could share my life with those that aren’t as close in proximity as they once were. Sometimes it is really hard to share the same story a hundred times. Here I can share it once and anyone who wants to read has the chance. Some of these stories will make you laugh, some will make you cry, and there might be a time or two when you get flat out angry. That’s okay. Let me know in the comments. I love to hear what people think.
  3. And this brings me to the last thing I hope to do. Continue to develop my community. I truly love it when I get that notification that I have had a comment on a post I made. I am looking forward to using that to begin conversations and continue to grow and develop relationships.

So there you have it. My rhyme and reason behind jumping back onto the blogmas train. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know in the comments. And come back tomorrow to see what I have cooked up!
