Married and Replanting EP. 010: Catching the Curveballs

If you know anything about baseball you know that a curveball has the reputation of being one of the more challenging pitches to swing at. It’s also one of the more challenging pitches to throw correctly. It’s no wonder that when life veers off course and things don’t go the way the had been planned they are labeled as curveballs.

Life has provided it’s fair share of curveballs for Dusty and I over the course of our 15 years of ministry and 12 years of marriage. As with everything in life, however, it’s not about the actual curveball itself but more about the response and regroup to move forward.

This week Dusty and I talk about some general overarching responses to some things that we have been thrown over the years. We then give a couple very specific examples of some curveballs we have experienced, one in the ministry and one in our marriage.

No matter what life throws at us the end result that we came to was this: When life throws you curveballs stop, take a breathe, lean into God, and remember that He is going to work things out for good if you just remember to trust in Him no matter what.

So grab a cup of coffee, a glass of sweet tea, or your favorite bottle of root beer and join us as we discuss the catching life’s curveballs.

Ep. 024: Setting Healthy Boundaries The Married and Replanting Podcast

People are relational. That is how we are created, but sometimes it is necessary to set boundaries in order to ensure safe, healthy interactions. The problem is sometimes it can be really difficult to know when and where to set those healthy boundaries. This week Dusty and Elizabeth talk about the importance of setting boundaries both in your marriage and in the ministry. They talk about some of the pitfalls to avoid while doing so also. Setting boundaries isn't always the easiest thing to do but when it is done well and with a loving heart and mind set everyone benefits in the long run. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join us as we discuss setting healthy boundaries in all the areas of our lives. Have a question about church replanting, marriage, or just life in general?
